Sock care

Proper care extends the life of a pair two to three times. Here are simple rules for cotton, merino and innovative fibres.

Washing

30 degrees

A delicate cycle at 30 °C is the universal formula for all our socks. Hot water shrinks merino and accelerates the wear of cotton.

Inside out

Turn the pairs inside out before washing: the outer layer rubs less and sweat washes out better.

No bleach

Chlorine and oxygen bleaches destroy the fibre and strip the colour. Use mild detergents for wool or delicates.

Drying

Away from radiators

Do not dry socks on a radiator or in direct sunlight: dry heat makes the fibre brittle.

Lay flat

Dry merino flat on a towel — the pair will not stretch or lose its shape.

No tumble dryer

Machine drying is strongly not recommended: compression and heat halve the lifespan.

Ironing and storage

Low temperature

If you iron, only through a damp cloth at the minimum temperature. Socks generally do not need ironing at all.

In pairs

Store socks in pairs, rolled or folded: easier to find a match and fewer creases.

In a dry place

Keep them in a dry, ventilated place away from direct light. Moisture is the main enemy of natural fibres.

Special care

Merino

Wash at 30 °C with a liquid wool detergent, dry flat. Do not spin at high speed.

Sport styles

Wash after every workout, use a sports conditioner to remove odour and preserve the elastane.

No-show and knee-highs

Wash no-show socks in a mesh bag; wash knee-highs with the elastic bands fastened to keep their grip.
